Chromium with the fingerprint built in.

Give every account its own consistent device, and keep your Playwright and Puppeteer code. The values are set inside Chromium, so pages, workers and iframes all see the same machine.

The engine

Either way, it's the same engine.

Most tools patch values from the outside. Clearcote sets them in Chromium's own C++, so there is no page script to find, and nothing for a worker or an iframe to contradict.

import clearcote

browser = clearcote.launch(fingerprint="acct-1", platform="windows")
page = browser.new_page()          # a normal Playwright page
page.goto("https://example.com")

    Set in the engine

    Canvas, WebGL, audio, fonts and hardware values come from Chromium's own code paths. The main thread, workers and iframes agree.

  • 2

    One seed, one device

    The same seed gives the same device every session. A different seed gives an unrelated one. Use one per account.

  • A network that matches

    TLS and HTTP/2 follow the Chrome version you present. Timezone and language follow the proxy's exit IP.

Where the change happens

Every tool changes the browser somewhere. The deeper, the fewer seams.

A value set in the page can be read back as a script. A value set in the engine is just how the browser works.

  1. Layer 1

    The page's JavaScript

    Stealth plugins, e.g. puppeteer-extra-plugin-stealth

    Overrides are scripts a page can inspect, and workers or iframes may not get them.

  2. Layer 2

    The automation driver

    Patched drivers, e.g. undetected-chromedriver, nodriver

    Automation gets quieter, but the fingerprint is still the machine it runs on.

Questions

Questions, answered

What exactly is Clearcote?

A Chromium build with fingerprint control compiled into the engine, plus SDKs for Python, Node and .NET. Run it on your own machines, or use our hosted browsers: it is the same engine either way.

Is it really open source?

The open build is: BSD-3-Clause, every patch human-readable, reproducible from source. The latest build (the free key, Personal and Pro) adds work that is not published, so it cannot be rebuilt from public source.

Can I get the latest build for free?

Yes, for one browser at a time. Open Licenses in your dashboard and claim the free key with a GitHub account at least 30 days old. Without GitHub, a card check (never charged; prepaid cards are refused) or a company Google Workspace account also works. It is the same licensed build Pro gets, on a key that renews every 30 days. Needs SDK 0.30.0 or newer.

What does Pro ($49/month) add?

Up to 250 browsers at once on any number of machines, more in blocks of 100, plus older builds, version pinning, the preview channel and direct email support from the owner. Personal ($15/month) has the same build options for up to 15 browsers, without blocks or email support. Same build as the free key; nothing in Pro unlocks more fingerprint control.

Which platforms are supported?

Windows x64 and Linux x64. On an Apple Silicon Mac (macOS 13+) the licensed build runs natively as a preview, downloaded by the SDK (0.51.1+) when you launch with a licence key. On an Intel Mac, or without a key, launch() runs the Clearcote Docker image through Docker Desktop (SDK 0.40.0+).

What is it for, and is that allowed?

It is a browser, built for privacy, testing, research and lawful automation. Whether a specific use is permitted depends on your local law and the terms of the sites you visit, and that is your responsibility. We make no claims about any particular detection product.
