Every account of the full browser version names the same build

Under the Google Chrome brand, uaFullVersion equals the Google Chrome and Chromium entries of fullVersionList. N/A for other brands and for engines without client hints (severity: warn).

What a detector infers

Chrome reports its full build number three ways through User-Agent Client Hints: the legacy uaFullVersion value, and the Google Chrome and Chromium entries of fullVersionList. In Google Chrome all three are filled from one version string, so they name the same build — 155.0.8059.80, three times. A spoof that writes them separately gets them out of step.

The clearest example is an open tool: puppeteer-extra-plugin-stealth with its default settings reports a uaFullVersion of 155.0.0.0 beside a fullVersionList saying 155.0.8059.80. In the audit's corpus, 242 of 248 Google Chrome captures agree; the six that do not report a uaFullVersion of 151.0.0.0 under a list naming majors from 128 to 134. Measured equal on every stock Chrome tested.

The comparison is limited to the Google Chrome brand, because other vendors legitimately differ: Edge's uaFullVersion is Edge's own version number, not Chromium's. It goes further than uach-ua-version and uach-highentropy, which compare majors; this row compares the whole build string.

How to resolve it

Set the version once, below JavaScript, so every hint is derived from it — or leave client hints alone. Overriding userAgentData in the page has to rewrite uaFullVersion and fullVersionList together, and the stealth plugin's defaults do not.

Who builds this test

Clearcote is a browser built for fingerprint coherence

It is a Chromium fork, maintained by the same people who wrote this reference. It ships as a compiled browser rather than as a stealth script injected into someone else's — which is a description of how it is built, and is not an argument about how it behaves on this check.

This audit takes no position on how Clearcote scores on Navigator identity checks, on this one, or anywhere else. It has no baseline corpus of other people's fingerprints to rank you against and no vendor scoreboard — nearly every check is self-referential, asking one browser the same question through two independent APIs and reporting whether both answers can be true at once. It runs identically on any browser, including ours. Run it on yours and read the result yourself.
